ZOEVA is a German brand, founded in 2008 by Zoe Boikou. It has been making it’s way around the world for a while now, getting more and more renowned for their amazing quality and affordability. Their makeup brushes are absolutely stunning. In fact dare I say Zoeva makeup brushes are the most luxurious feeling, and chic looking brushes I have ever seen. I know makeup brushes can be pretty expensive, but then right makeup tools can absolutely change the way your makeup looks. No matter how good quality products you use, if the tools are crappy, the end result is gonna be crappy.
Zoeva Rose Golden Luxury Set Vol 2 – Feminine Chic
Firstly, I’m normally not attracted to pinks and girly colors tbh. Only because it’s not my style, but the Zoeva Rose Golden Luxury Set Vol 2 is a perfect blend of feminine and chic. It doesn’t scream cotton candy or baby unicorn vomit(pfff). It just looks chic and feminine at the same time, as the name suggests. The best way I can describe is, well there’re pinks for sweet girls, and then there’re pinks for grown up women. Right? Well I hope I’m not the only one who feels that way. Anyway! The point here is, I love the blush nude (powder nude) handles of the brushes, but also the bag it comes with, even though it’s kinda metallicy pinky rose gold, because of the mauve hues it looks chic. The rose gold details are absolutely GORGEOUS ! and White bristles, even though they don’t seem very practical, it looks beautiful, and it might make you wash your makeup brushes like you are suppose to(haha). We all are guilty of keeping our makeup brushes dirty for longer than we should, which btw causes acne. (oh you knew? Dah!)
Anyhow the bristles feel super soft and luxe. You can tell they’re pretty good quality synthetic makeup brushes. Zoeva Rose Golden Luxury Set Vol 2 comes with 8 brushes (3 face brushes and 5 eye makeup brushes) + a large brush clutch + a brush holder. It comes in a beautiful packaging wrapped in a black tissue with Zoeva printed all over it. Every brush is individually packed with secure plasticy covers so the brushes don’t lose the shape and reach to you safe and secure.
List of Makeup Brushes
104 Buffer*, 109 Luxe Face Paint, 126 Luxe Cheek Finish
226 Smudger*, 228 Luxe Crease, 234 Luxe Smoky Shader, 317 Wing Liner*, 322 Brow Line*
I do think they could have replaced one of the wing liner or brow line brush for something else. Because I find that you can pretty much do both winged eyeliner or brow lines with one of those brushes. I would have liked it better if they could replace brow line with something else and kept the mini angled wing liner brush. But nonetheless the brushes are ahmazing.
104 Buffer Brush
Apply and blend foundation
If you have been around for a while you know how much I love beauty blender. I absolutely LOVE that little miracle thing for foundation, concealer and pretty much everything. But lately life has been so darn busy. Damping the beauty blender and then properly washing it everytime I use it doesn’t seem very convenient. I have been opting for foundation brushes for quick application. This dense flat top buffing brush does give a max coverage that a buffing brush possibly can. Haven’t noticed shedding or anything so far. I expected it to be stiffer, since it is a flat top dense brush, but it doesn’t feel aggressive or abrasive on the skin.
109 Luxe Face Paint
Contour and shape with powder
Firstly they couldn’t come up with a better name for this brush. Face paint ? Really ? well yeah! (lol) Anyhow when I was ordering this set, 2 of the brushes really caught my eye and Luxe Face paint is one of them. I really wanted to try out this brush but at the same time it felt like it’ll give really hard contour lines which will be hard to blend, but it’s not the case at all. It’s not SUPER stiff like some other contour brushes of this style. It applies and blends the contour shade very precisely and beautifully.
126 Luxe Cheek Finish
Apply powder, blush and bronzer
Luxe Cheek Finish brush is one of those brushes that you can basically use for a bunch of different things. I think it’s a very versatile brush, again feels super soft and smooth on the skin.
Softly apply and blend eyeshadow along the lash line
Actually it’s a two in one brush. Normally you apply the eyeshadow on the lash-line with a stiffer brush and then blend it out with the fully blending brush to make it less harsh and smoke it out. However this brush is good at packing and blending the eyeshadow at the same time.
228 Luxe Crease
Blend transitions to a seemless finish
Can I already say it’s one of my absolute favorite brushes ever? Pfff! I love it. This is the second brush that really caught my eye. It’s PERFECTION. The bristles are long and fluffy and it blends the eyeshadow like dream. It makes the transition of eyeshadows super seemless and that’s what a good smokey eye is all about.
234 Luxe Smoky Shader
Apply and blend eyeshadow for a smoky finish
Actually this brush is really good at packing on the eyeshadow. I’m not sure about the blended smoky look. I think this brush is perfect to pack on eyeshadows dry or wet. It is stiff enough to pack the eyeshadow but a little fluffy to hold the eyeshadow, so there isn’t a lot of fall out once your start dabbing the brush.
317 Wing Liner
Apply eyeliner with the perfect flick
You can use this brush a several ways, you can carve of the brows with concealer, you can use it to get really solid clean lines when you wear bold lips, use it to apply lipstick or carve out the edges with foundation or concealer, you can use this brush to actually get a perfect winged eyeliner look or you can also use this brush to fill in your brow.
322 Brow Line
I honestly think this brush is kinda unnecessary when you have wing liner brush, and that’s just my opinion, to someone else it might be a great idea to have this brush in the set but I think it’s kind of a repeat. I would have preferred a separate highlight or concealer or even powder brush or may be a brush to use with cream products. In all honestly I’m not so impressed with this one. But it’s obviously not a useless brush, you can pretty much do everything with this brush that you can with the wing liner brush.
Overall I absolutely love these brush. I would definitely recommend giving these a look if you want some good quality makeup brushes.
I hope you find this post helpful.
