Too faced MELTED KISSES and SWEET CHEEKS Review
In my recent blog posts I mentioned I wanted to try out new Too faced products and honestly I can be a little picky with the products I use. Too faced Melted liquified lipsticks and love flush blushes are so popular and raved about. I really wanted to give them a go and just in time Too faced released their limited edition holiday sets, which included Too faced Melted Kisses and Sweet Cheeks collection. It has 3 sets of Liquified long lasting lipsticks and love flush blushes. On the Sephora website I could actually find a single box and I chose Melted Peony Liquified lipstick and Love Flush Justify my Love Blush.
Melted Peony Liquified Long-wearing Lipstick
Even though this pink is not very weather appropriate I think you can get away with this shade of blue toned pink lipstick and blush all year round. Melted Peony is a gorgeous bold pink lipstick without being super baby doll-esque, like Mac Candy Yum Yum. I love how it’s a perfectly toned down bright pink, anyone who doesn’t fancy wearing barbie-esque pink lipsticks would appreciate this color.
The formulation, well, since there’s so much hype around these liquified lipsticks I expected more from them. It’s not that I don’t like the product, I love it. But I expected more. When it comes to long lasting liquid lipsticks, you expect them to last for more than 5 hours. But this product does not fit in that category. It’s just like a liquified lipstick. On my lips it stayed for 2 and a half hour and after that it started to fade. Now for a lipstick to fade after a couple of hours is no big deal, but the way it faded I wasn’t very happy about it. It gave that weird white crust in the inner rims of the lips and balled up a little, and that normally never happens to me. That was a definite con. However it looked gorgeous on the lips before it went all weird.
It’s very pigmented. But the applicator really gives you control over how opaque or sheer application you want. It has a very creamy finish, it’s comfortable on the lips. The applicator I liked more than I expected. Normally even the glosses that come in squeezy things I’m not a fan of. But this sponge-tip applicator is surprisingly easy to use. Plus it’s just the perfect size, not too big, not too small. You can really control the application process.
Overall I love it, it looked absolutely gorgeous and I will buy few more shades in the future, but I wasn’t as impressed as I thought I would be. It took me a while to think of this product as a liquified pigmented lipstick than a liquid lipstick. I think it’s more of what I expected than the actual product that disappointed me.(pfff that sounded deeper than I intended it to…)
Justify My Love Love Flush Blush
Again, all the hype had me drooling over these blushes. But again I wanted to try them out first before buying full-size product. And I have to say I’m absolutely in love with the formulation, the application and the color. Everything about this blush is great. It blends beautifully. Lasts ALL DAY ! looks gorgeous on the skin. I hate it when blushes go patchy. It blended out like a dream. It’s pigmented enough to make a visible difference but not overly pigmented where you just end up with clown cheeks. Love it !
Justify my Love is a gorgeous, I’d say neutral pink shade, however it definitely has some blue tones. It has a tiny amount of shimmer in it, which gives your cheeks a very healthy and flushed look. Even if you don’t like shimmery blushes Melted Kisses and Sweet Cheeks is an intelligent way to wet your toes and test out the waters. You might end up liking them.
Over all I love it. Not much to say. From the packaging to the formulation everything about these blushes is on point.
I hope you find this post helpful.
