Spring Foundation Routine
My Foundation routine doesn’t change very often. It’s one of the most consistent part of my makeup routine. Getting your foundation right is one of the hardest and most important step to any makeup look. If your foundation doesn’t look right, no matter how bomb rest of your makeup is, it’s not gonna look so great. I’ve combination skin. As the weather changes, it either gets oilier or drier. At this point, it has gotten a little dry. My personal preference for foundation is “natural dewy”, not too dewy, not too matte. Something in the middle.
Since I have combination skin, more on the oily side, for the most part, I prefer matte foundations. But, matte foundations can look cakey and heavy really easily. In today’s blog post I’m sharing my tricks on how I get the “natural dewy” look, while keeping my face matte and fresh all day, and zero touch-ups.
I make a cocktail of L’Oreal Infallible 24hrs matte foundation + L’Oreal Infallible Stay Fresh Foundation + H&M Halo Illuminiser “Champagne”.
- L’Oreal 24hrs Matte foundation has super matte finish.
- L’Oreal Stay Fresh has Velvety finish.
- H&M Halo Illuminisier adds glow and highlight.
I mix both the foundations equal parts and littlest dribble of illuminiser. It helps to achieve the “glow from within look”, while the foundation stays velvety matte all day, and I don’t have to touch it up at all.
For Under-Eye concealer, to keep up with the natural dewy look I use Sephora serum gel concealer. It’s not super pigmented, but I like the way it looks under the eyes. It has a very brightening and natural finish and looks almost dewy. To set the under-eye concealer and T-zone I use Makeup Forever HD loose powder. Depending on your skin type you can customize your foundation, if you want more of a velvety look, skip the illuminiser.
