March Favorites 2016
April, already ? I’m not complaining that it’s already April, and spring time. I’m pretty darn happy about it, even though most days it’s still cloudy and gloomy. Anyhow this year is passing by FAST, lightning fast. Past month has been good as far as having success with new products goes. I’ve tried quite a few and in today’s post I’ll be sharing the products that stood out to me the most, March Favorites obviously.
Essence is an amazing affordable brand. They’ve some seriously good beauty/makeup products. I’m very picky with the mascaras I use. Firstly because my eyes are pretty sensitive, especially around this time of the year and also my lashes are literally nonexistent. I’ve very few, small and straight lashes and I don’t wear false-lashes. Quite honestly any makeup-look, looks 10x better with false lashes, I know that. But still I don’t wanna go down the false-lashes route because there’s no coming back. Things like that go from “want” to “need” pretty quick, and I’m too busy to be that high-maintenance. Uhh ! the point is Essence Lash Princess, false lash effect mascara is ahhmazing. I absolutely love the wand as it separates, lengthens and adds volume to the lashes at the same time, without getting clumpy. It’s a big win for me. On it’s own it works perfect but when I want extra oomph to my lashes I pair it with L’Oreal False Lash SuperStar Mascara Primer. This combo is Perfection !
Weather change really affects my skin. I’m not only prone to breaking out more around this time of the year, but my skin gets really unpredictable, just like the weather. A good toner really helps to balance the pH level and make your skin less irritable. I got this mini Clarins Chamomile Toner in the set with the Hydra Quench Mask and Blue Orchid oil and honestly that Trio has been such a huge success. The Hydra Quench Mask is super moisturizing and leaves your skin feeling really soft and bouncy if it’s even the right term to use.
Sleek Eye and Cheek Palette “Dancing till Dusk” has been my go-to palette. I’ve in fact mentioned it quite a few times in my previous posts where I shared few makeup ideas for spring. This pink blush is gorgeous. It adds a very healthy glow and shine to your cheeks and ties up the whole look with the highlighter and eyeshadows are great. I wish instead of neutral light-matte this palette had an iridescent highlight shade, like “Virgin” from original naked palette. That would’ve made this palette perfect. But nonetheless, love it. Great for on the go or as an everyday palette.
I sneeze and chip my nail-polish. Nail-polish doesn’t last on my nails for more than 2 days. If even 2 days. It gets chipped or peels off. I don’t know if it’s the combination of Nails-Inc gel effect polish with Sally Hansen Base + Top coat that made it last through the whole week or just the polish on it’s own. But I was so impressed. “Mayfair Lane” is a perfect nude nail color. I personally like white manicure but if you don’t but this nude is a great option. It has slight pink hues and it’s not as stark as white. “Covent Garden Place” is a gorgeous springy/summery pink. I personally don’t wear just vibrant colors but this one is an exception.
Charlotte Tilbury matte revolution lipstick, it’s no secret by now I love mauve-nudes and brownish-nudes. This one is a blend of both and it’s Perfection. The shade, the packaging, the formula everything is great. My absolute favorite lip liner of all-time is Essence “honey bun”, but they discontinued it. I have a spare one and I was using it very sparingly. Charlotte tilbury Iconic nude is exactly the same color but a little darker. I’m so glad to discover it.
Lastly Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector “opal” has been my highlight of choice this past month. It’s one thing if someone asks me about a makeup product on Instagram or facebook because that’s my “beauty page” and I get it, but people/strangers have came up to me in person, to ask about the highlight and how often does that happen ? I like an intense highlight but in very very selective areas. I was using a highlight brush from Zoeva but it was too much highlight for me. I find Zoeva Luxe Crease Brush works the best for me personally to achieve the precise-highlighted look that I like.
These’re all my march favs. Do you have any new favorite product?
I hope you find this post helpful.
