Marc Jacbobs Le Marc Lip Creme – Rei of light 212
Well I’m back with my usual posts. No more of my life-updates. So, I went to Sephora while I was in Barcelona, and as weird as it sounds coming from a makeup enthusiast I was not really drawn to any thing really. It felt like yes I have seen it, yeah whatever ! Nothing really called to me, except the Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Creme Lipsticks. Marc Jacobs is not available where I live, that’s one reason why I was drawn towards it, and the swatch just sealed the deal for me.
Since fall is here I was looking for a shade that wasn’t too vampy or too muted. I know that’s confusing, but I think I have this split personality, either I only wear nude lip colors or I just go with straight up vampy lips, which I love, but again I wanted to try out something different. I absolutely loved this shade “212 Rei of light”, it swatched beautifully so I bought it.
The Website Claims:
Luxury lipstick that lasts. Finally. Indulge your pout with Marc’s new revolutionary 10-hour lipstick that covers your lips with buttery, creamy vibrant pigment with one pigment-saturated swipe. Experience unprecedented color payoff from concentrated color-boost pigments that are triple-milled and steeped in hydrating ingredients, so your lips experience ultimate long-lasting color and moisture. Instantly lips feel plumped and nourished from powerful peptides, antioxidant-rich seaberry, and natural humectants, including meranti and cocoa butter. Never before has a hydrating lipstick provided such highly pigmented, long-lasting color. All luxury. All day. No compromise.
It definitely feels like a luxury product. Yes it’s expensive, but it also feels like one. If I were to compare it with any other lipstick formula, the closest is MAC matte lipsticks but better. Just to be clear, MAC matte lipsticks are my absolute favorite lipsticks and I don’t think I like any other product more than those lipsticks, however this is a little bit creamier. It is P I G M E N T E D. If you love that super opaque liquid lipstick effect but you hate the dryness and feel of them, Le Marc Lip Creme Lipstick is your best bid. It’s super long-wearing, however it does transfer, but that’s okay because in the product claims it doesn’t say that it’s non-transferable. It reallyyyyyyyy stains your lips.
I had this lipstick on for about 7 hours, I had a meal, I had a cup of tea, it didn’t move, feathered or bled. It stayed put, which is a big big plus, but at the same time what I ate wasn’t super oily or messy. I like how the lipstick feels creamy but gives a demi-matte finish. The application is pretty easy. I really like the shape, it makes the application so much easier. I didn’t use any lip liner or lipstick brush, applied straight from the bullet and it looked fine.
Rei of Light is such a beautiful shade of red. It’s a brown based red which is not too dark and not too muted, it is absolutely perfect for fall and winter. It looks pretty much the same in reality as it does in the swatch picture. This shade is described as “toasted brick” Also known as “deep sienna orange” and it is such a unique shade. I haven’t seen a shade like this.
Can we take a moment to appreciate the packaging. I LOVE IT ! All black with Silver writing. I love it. It’s sleek and elegant. It feels heavy and good quality. It has magnetic closure. The only con to this packaging is, it literally catches non-existent lint from somewhere, I hope you know what I mean and you can see the finger prints on it. But oh well, it’s alright, I love the packing anyway. It’s BLACK okay!
By now you must have gathered that I love le marc lip creme lipstick. Correct me if I’m wrong but there’re 20 shades in the range to choose from and also Marc Jacobs released a whole range of nude lip colors. You’re gonna find the color of your choice.
I hope you find this post helpful.
