L’Oreal Infallible 24 hrs matte foundation review

Before I get in to the review of this product, I want to mention my skin type, so that you can understand the review better, and it will be easier for you to figure out if you would wanna buy this product or not. I have combination skin for the most part. In winter, it does tend to get a little dry and in summer it gets oilier, which is totally normal. In the transitional months I have normal – combination skin. And I think for most people it is like that. Sunny days are approaching real fast, I wanted to change my foundation and go for a matte version, since I do know that as it gets sunnier, my face oils are about to get outta control. I was out for a matte foundation hunt, and I came across L’Oreal infallible 24 hours matte foundation. It did sound interesting. And I ended up buying it.

Pros and Cons:

On the whole, I really really like this foundation. But I am going to share the pros, cons and my experience in this blog, so it is easier for you to decide whether or not you want to buy this foundation. I think it works great. A person with really oily skin or combination to oily skin would absolutely love it. However I think it would be a disaster on dry skin. Which is pretty obvious it is an absolute matte foundation. But not everybody keeps that in consideration while they buy a foundation for themselves or they are new in this makeup world. So, if you have dry or normal to dry skin, this is not for you at all. I have combination skin as I mentioned before and still it does cling to the dry patches. The coverage is pretty good, I would say it does give a medium coverage and evens out the discoloration and hyper pigmentation on the face. Even though it clings to the dry patches in the beginning, but once it warms on your face, that goes away. And I think with any matte foundation, it is like that. When it warm up with your face oils, it gives you more natural finish. The consistency of this foundation is more cream or mousse like. It sets pretty fast, but still gives you enough time to blend it out. Still I believe you have to be a little quicker in blending while using this foundation, because it sets faster than your usual non-matte foundations. It is suuuuuper suuuuper matte when you apply it first. It kinda feels weird to be honest, but literally in 5 minutes, after it sets, that feeling goes away. I think it is absolutely great for summer, if not spring. It claims to stay matte for 24 hrs, I do not agree with that, I didn’t use any primer, neither did I set this foundation, otherwise it would be wayyyy too much matte, and mask-like. So on it’s on it held amazingly for first 4-5 hours. Which is great for a foundation. I don’t wear foundation for longer than that anyway, but just for the sake of reviewing it I have been wearing it for longer periods of times. I does start showing oiliness after 4 – 5 hours. Depending on how oily your skin is. It started to get shiny on my chin nose and forehead after 4-5 hours. Which I fixed by using a blotting sheet. And it was again looking great. It does crack a little bit. I noticed some cracking in under eye area. It was not very noticeable, if only you checked it real closely you would see that, and obviously I was testing it out to review, I was checking every aspect of it. But if you use a separate under eye concealer, that should not be a problem for you. I do not use a concealer most days, only when I go for heavy makeup I use under-eye concealer, otherwise no. I like my skin peeking through the foundation. But anyhow the cracking wasn’t very noticeable, but it was there. Over all I think it is an amazing product. And I would definitely be using it in spring and summer.

Would I recommend it?

Yes, I would. To anyone who has combination – oily/oily skin. I am really liking it and I would definitely be using it throughout spring and summer. I use powder highlighter to bring back some glow to the face. And it works perfectly.

I hope this reviews was helpful.

Good Luck!
