Lancome Miracle Cushion Review
Cushion foundations are considered very new, and different, but the truth is they’ve been around for a while. However they’re new to the western cosmetic industry. In Korea the cushion foundation trend took over in 2008 and still going strong and making it’s way around the world. I wanted to try out a cushion foundation for a while now, only because of the portability, however I have found out that cushion foundations usually carry added skincare benefits. And if you have been following my blog for a while, anything skincare related? I want to try ! Anyhow.

MY THOUGHTS ON LANCOME MIRACLE CUSHION?
To begin with, I have combination to oily skin which gets a little dry in colder months. I’m all about sheer coverage foundations, but this past summer I have been so obsessed with L’Oreal Infallible 24hrs matte foundation that I kinda went off track. That foundation is pretty full coverage. However I think I’m done with that as the season is changing. I don’t need my foundation to be matte anymore. Plus I would love to use sheer to medium dewy foundations again for that healthy and youthful glow. So that’s when I decided to try out Lancome Miracle Cushion. And I’m in LOVE with it. I do think you don’t get enough product(foundation) for the price you pay. That’s definitely a con in my opinion.
If you’re someone who is always on the go or you like really dewy and second-skin like look, you will absolutely love lancome miracle cushion. It gives a very natural glow to your skin while evening out your skin tone. Like the product claims it’s a light-weight formula, it does feel hydrating on the skin. I like to set it with powder on my T-zone, because obviously the weather is confusing, in the morning it’s freezing cold and by the afternoon it feels like I’m gonna die with a heat stroke.
I think the packing of Lancome Miracle cushion is AMAZING ! It’s super portable. Comes with a large round mirror that you can use on the go or for the touch-ups, and it comes with a puff applicator. The thing I love absolutely the most about this packaging is that they have an air-tight cover on top of the cushion, so the liquid foundation doesn’t dry out. You can flip the cushion to extend the usage, haven’t done that yet, but that makes sense.
Also if you end up loving this foundation and it becomes your holy grail, you don’t have to repurchase the whole compact, they have refills for that.Since this foundation is designed for everyday usage, and it’s sheer, light-weight and dewy, that doesn’t mean you can’t build it up. You can definitely get a medium coverage out of this foundation and I have done that my self. Whenever I wear dark lips, a full-coverage foundation is a must for me, however I wore this foundation instead and went for a medium coverage. It looked absolutely great.
Usually I don’t really wear makeup for longer time-periods, but lately things have been a little different. And I needed my makeup to stay put all day. I didn’t use any primer with this foundation and yet it wore beautifully through out the day and my skin looked very fresh and radiant. It almost creates a little blurry effect on the large pores, which I’m really happy about. Because obviously if I’m in hurry I want the most out of one product. It blurs out the large pores, evens outs the complexions, makes the skin look natural and glowy and also hydrates it, plus it has SPF 23 P++, recent research says that there isn’t much difference in between SPF 30 and 50, so if you have sensitive skin this level of SPF is a safe and better option.
My biggest concern with this foundation is the applicator. But that’s pretty obvious, it’s the whole concept of cushion foundation, I bought it knowingly. But still constantly pressing the same puff that I used on my face several times back into the foundation cushion makes me cringe. But again that’s the whole cushion foundation concept. However I’ll definitely say the applicator is great. It applies foundation flawlessly and blends it for you.
Overall I’m loving this Lancome Miracle Cushion. It looks like a second skin, very natural and radiant. Yes it’s pricey but it’s Lancome what else can be expected. I’m definitely buying a refill because I love the way it looks on my skin. If you’re someone who loves full coverage foundations, this is definitely not for you, at all ! but if you’re someone who enjoys natural looking timeless makeup, or you’re too busy or always on the go and you want something to just make you look pulled together and chic, you’ll really enjoy this product.
I do know it’s a pretty long review, not like my usual reviews but if you made it till the end let me know
I hope you find this post helpful.
