It is no secret that Kylie cosmetics has quickly become the most popular brand for liquid lipsticks. Yes, the cosmetics line do offer other makeup products which are sold out as soon as they get launched, but the kylie lipkits hold the position for being the most popular. Whenever a products gets too hyped and everyone is talking about it, I kinda lose interest in it. Ever since the first launch I have heard of so many mixed reviews and scandals about Kylie cosmetics, I kinda stayed away from hoping on the Kylie lipkit bandwagon. Even though all the lip colors were right down my alley, international shipping, taxes, scandals, mixed reviews and always sold out didn’t convince me to try them out myself. However there was this one shade that I absolutely loved. I resisted it for the longest time but then on Cinco de mayo this year she had Buy one Get one free on kylie lipkits and I managed to grab a few. You know what they say, If you can’t stop thinking about it then just buy it haha !
If you’ve been following my posts for a while here and on my Instagram, you’ll know I love peachy lip colors. I think they’re the most flattering on my skin tone and MAC “kinda sexy” being my all time favorite lipstick explains my love for peachy nudes. A week ago I received my package from Kylie cosmetics and I was very excited to try the much hyped kylie lipkits. Obviously the first shade I tried was the root of all evil(this impulse purchase) “Dirty Peach”.
Kylie LipKit – Dirty Peach Review
Without beating around the bush(anymore lol), I LOVE the formulation of this liquid lipstick. The reason I wanted to share a separate post on each Kylie lipkit is because when I was looking for solo swatches of the lipkits it was almost impossible to find them. Collective reviews and collective swatches and I did not have time to read through the whole post and find the particular swatches among so many shades because these lipkits sell out fast. Dirty Peach lipkit has a lip pencil and a liquid lipstick combo like all other lipkits. The lip pencil is slightly, just a tad darker than the liquid lipstick, which is perfect because these type of lip colors do tend to look flat. To create a bit of dimension and fullness a slight ombre works great. The lip pencil glides on effortlessly, it’s creamy and opaque and so is the liquid lipstick. It looked way peachier on me than it did in the swatches on the website. But every lip color looks a bit different depending on your skintone.
I personally found this lipkit to be super comfortable, however I’m very used to wearing liquid lipsticks. It stayed on all day. When I say all day I mean morning till night. We had a long day out, and it did not move, budge or flake off. It faded off inner rim of the lips however not in an ugly crusty way, granted I always exfoliate and moisturize my lips before putting liquid lipstick and that helps a lot !
Over all, I’m pretty happy with this particular lipkit. I’ll be posting more swatches and reviews on some of the other shades that I got.
I hope you find this post helpful.
Good Luck !
