Coral Craze

Coral Craze

Yes!! Finally the weather has changed. And honestly I soooo needed this change. I love the feeling of spring and summer, you are not home bound and it is such a feeling of freedom. I really love seeing all the flowers bloom and sun shinning. As much as I hate pollen allergy that I have, it is a small price to pay I believe. And anyway now I know how to deal with it, so that make things easier. I didn’t know I had any pollen allergy until 3 years ago. Anyway, not a big deal. This blog post is going to be all about my “coral craze”, how much I love coral shades for spring and summer. Now it is pretty confusing as for what actually “CORAL” shades are. There are shades that look absolutely pink to us or absolutely orange to us, and makeup artists call them coral and we are like, well, what are the coral shades, I have figured it out the best I could(lol). Any shades with orange tones are coral, it goes for opaque true orange to really pinky, almost red, like tangerine and red oranges. They all fall in “Coral category”. So as long as there are orangey tones to the shade it is a coral. I am sure I am not the only person who has this “Coral craze”. Coral shades are soooo sooo sooo beautiful. And they look good on alllllll skin tones. You can never go wrong with coral shades, in spring and summer. However not everyone is comfortable in wearing true orange lipsticks, or really bold coral shades. In this blog I will be sharing my favorite ways of incorporating coral shades in my makeup looks. Also the products I am sharing go from nudest coral to really bold coral, So, there is a option for everyone, for people who can rock a statement coral look to people who like it keep it subtle, everyone will find something that works for them.

Lipsticks:

That’s my favorite way of adding coral to my look in spring. Lipsticks are everything, I am such a lipstick person. Anyway, I am sharing 7 options, from really pinky to really orangey. I will be sharing 7 lip options, which are my absolute favorite, some are my recent favorite, and some are a must for me for a long time.

L’Oreal Rouge Caresse 03 Lovely Rose

I know you must be thinking well, that’s a pink, and it is also called, lovely rose. Yes it is a pink, but it is an orange based pink. It is the mildest and nudest option to incorporate coral to your look. It is totally considered pink, but because of the orange hue that shines on your lips, I totally consider it reallyyyy really subtle coral. So anyone who is not so big on true coral shades, can go with this one.

Chanel Rouge Allure 90 Pimpante

I love this shade, it is such a beautiful peachy pinky coral shade. It is second stage subtle option to add coral to your look. It is not as mild as “lovely rose” but still it is super super subtle. It has a satiny texture to it which look really great in spring and summer, but I love how it’s not super creamy, the last thing you want in spring, when the wind is blowing in your face, to get lipstick all over your face and hair, God ! I hate that. I like how it has a satiny finish but it is not creamy and glossy.

Astor Matte Style Lip lacquer “All about style”

I have mentioned this lip lacquer on my blog plenty of times. I absolutely love how beautiful and subtle orange coral it is. It is not absolutely matte, but it definitely gives a semi-matte look. It is not at all drying on the lips. Matte lip products can be really drying. This lip lacquer does not feel uncomfortable on lips at all. It is a Perfect subtle coral shade.

Sleek Cosmetics True Colour Lipstick “774 Peaches and Cream” (sheen)

This is a beautiful beautiful pastel orange lipstick. It is creamy, it glides on the lips, it is really really moisturizing on the lips. It is opaque and it look greatttt on tanned skin, but at the same time it is good for lighter skin tones too. I’m really really impressed with sleek true colour lipsticks. I have 6 of them, and I love them all. They are worth giving a try.

MAC Amplified Lipstick “Morange”

It’s one the MAC’s most famous lipsticks. It has been talked about wayyy too much. It is a true coral orange shade. It is not everyone’s cup of tea, but people who enjoy wearing bold lipsticks, would really really enjoy it. MAC lipsticks are some of the best lipsticks, especially the creamy and satiny ones. Matte lipsticks have mixed review but since this one is amplified, which is a creamy and satiny formula, it glides on lips, and melts like butter, and that does not sound so appealing but that’s how it feels(lol). Anyway it has been one of my favorite lipstick from years.

Sleek Cosmetics True Colour Lipstick” 772 Coral reef” (sheen)

Ok I have to say that this lipstick is really really new to me, but I have literally fallen in love with it.(lol). It is such a beautiful pinkish orange shade. I love pinky orange corals, more than I love true corals. I think it is soooo flattering for all skin tones. And especially with a tan and a little bit of highlighter it just looks fabulous. Anybody who likes pinky coral shade, would absolutely love it.

Sleek True Color Lipstick “782 Papaya punch” (matte)

This shade is more on a orange-side than pink side, but still it has beautiful pink tones. It is not as pinkier as “coral reef” but it definitely has pink tones to it. It is a matte lipstick, which I love. I love matte lip-looks a lot. I have heard mixed reviews on sleek matte lipsticks, but I kind like “papaya punch” it is not patchy, but I guess some other colors from the matte line are patchy, I don’t find this lipstick to be patchy at all. It stays on well, and I love how my I am not afraid of my hair sticking on my lips(lol).

Blush:

To incorporate coral shades in your look, in a very very subtle way, you can opt for blushes. They are sooo subtle, but still it gives a very springy and summery look.

IMG_1680

Sleek Blush by 3 “LACE 367″

These 3 blushes are absolutely stunning. One of them is more shimmery but I love how it is not chunky cheap glitter, that really shoes up on skin, it is not so noticeable on skin, but it totally adds a beautiful glow to the cheeks. 3 blushes in one palette, It is a perfect compact for travelling, and it takes up less space in your vanity.

Sephora Blush “Dazzling pink”

This is such a beautiful pinky coral blush, I have used this one so much. It is long lasting, it is pigmented and it blends flawlessly. It gives a beautiful pinky coral flushed look to the cheeks, if orangey blushes are not your thing this is perfect for you.

Essence “Heat Wave”

This ombre style blush has the same idea as the sleek blush by 3. It has a gradient of orange to pink. And it gives you 4 options, either swirl the brush around in the compact and get different tones of coral on your cheeks, or customize the way you want. It is inexpensive and it is convenient.IMG_1671
