Boost Metabolism – Weight Management

Boost Metabolism – Weight Management :

Metabolism is a big health topic. A good metabolism is equal to a healthy body and mind. I have a slow metabolism and it is a nightmare to manage your weight with a low metabolism. It doesn’t matter even if you eat salads and fruit platters you are most likely to gain weight. There are also a bunch, and i mean A BUNCH of health benefits of good metabolism. In this blog post I am gonna share with you, ways to boost your metabolism in order to manage your weight and also other health benefits.

Eat your Breakfast:

You’re not going to lose weight by skipping meals. Or like myself, I skip the breakfast because within a couple of hours of me waking up my husband comes home to lunch, so, I get into other house-hold chores and I tell myself ahh ! we’ll eat together. But what it does is, it puts your body in a starvation mood. And your body starts to preserve even the bad-fats, thinking them as nutrients, which then causes belly fat and gaining weight. Always eat your breakfast because it kick starts your metabolism for the day and never skip the meal. Keep your body active.

Eat Easy to digest foods:

Don’t pile on processed, meaty and filled with unhealthy-carbs meals in your stomach. They take the longest to exist your stomach. And your stomach takes a long time to transit and grind it. In the end you end up eating another meal and keep piling the food in your stomach, which causes weight gain and belly fat, and especially belly fat. Add more fruits, veggies and fresh juices and smoothies in your diet. Instead of junk and processed foods. Don’t get me wrong, I love junk food, I love eating things that I know are not good for me, and I do eat them. But everything in proportion. And it is okay to have cheat meals every now and then. I have not been very careful with that I eat from a long while now. There was a time where I would only eat good stuff and go to the gym every single day even on weekends, me and my husband would go to the gym. And we liked doing that. Now life has become so busy and it has straight up effected the food we eat. We go for more fast and fuss-free options. Well, I am progressing myself, come along. Eat clean and easy to digest foods, and don’t make your slow metabolism go slower.

Avoid Sodas and Especially Diet sodas :

I feel so guilty even adding this part in my blog. I have drifted away a lot from my healthy lifestyle after having a baby. I love diet coke. And I love CokeZero, it makes me forget everything lol. And I know a lot of people can relate to that. I try and control how much I consume in a day, and in the process of getting it almost out of my life. As i said before everything in proportion is fine. But why you should avoid sodas is because it spikes your insulin levels and why you avoid diet sodas is because it tricks your body, your body does not know the difference in regular or diet coke, in fact it gets confused when you drink a diet coke, and there are no calories in it, it preserves it like it’s something good for your body and it slows down your metabolism, in result you gain weight and bad health. Just try as much as you can to eliminate sodas from your daily diet.

Sleep:

Sleep is sooooo important to make your body function properly, especially for a good metabolism. Make sure your get proper 7-8 hours sleep. and the best sleeping hours for your body are from 11 – 2 o’ clock. It recharges your body and boosts the functions and relaxes your muscles.

Stay active or Exercise:

Have a active lifestyle. Go for walks, or work out if you can. Active body is healthy body. I don’t work out anymore like I used to do, but I make sure I stay active, anyway household stuff keeps me active and to top it off I have a toddler who keeps me on my tip-toes all the time. Find something fun that keeps you active and it does not necessarily has to be working out. I take my daughter out, to the park, while she plays I am being active too, and things like that to actually stay active without working out. I love to go for walks, it refreshes my mind. Just try and stay active and keep your body moving.

Green Tea:

Green tea is a really good and effective way to boost your metabolism. It is so good for your body, your skin and your over all health. It helps your stomach to make more juices that help in digestion, which boosts your metabolism drastically. That is why when doctors and professionals talk about healthy ways to lose weight they always add green tea in the mix. Green tea is really good for you. Try and add it in your lifestyle.

Drink a lot of water:

Drink lots and LOTS of water. I don’t think I even need to explain why, because I have done that plenty of times on my blog. Drink lots and lots of water. Sometime what happens is you are only thirsty and your body confuses it with being hungry. Drinking a lot of water helps you release all the toxins out of your body and neutralizes all the levels in your body and keeps it healthy and hydrated. It has soooo many health benefits, and it has NO CALORIES, so why not just chug a big glass right now. Try and keep a tumbler or jug around you, so you don’t have to go especially to get yourself water and then you ended up not doing that, and make your body dehydrated and slow down your metabolism. Water is one of the most important components of your body. Drink lots and lots of water.

I hope these tips help you manage your weight and boost your metabolism. I shared such easy tips, which by the way have a big impact. Take baby steps. You don’t have to go all out, and go vegan and bla bla for healthy lifestyle. Just keep adding few healthy habits in your lifestyle and work your way towards healthy mind and body. I do not believe in sudden drastic changes in life style. Anyway.

Good Luck !

Love,

Zunaira Sulman.
