Alpha H daily essential moisturiser spf 50 Review
SPF, Sun Protection Factor, we all have heard of it, most of us know the importance, but very few of us actually use it. If you do a very brief and basic research on sun-damage for skin, you’ll realize how these long fun days under the sun are damaging your skin. But at the same time, you can’t avoid sun exposure. If you follow me on Instagram you’ll know how excited I get when the sun’s out. I’m totally guilty of ignoring sunscreen all while knowing how important it is. Ever since I’ve become a mom, I’m very conscious of avoiding peak sun hours and using spf for my little girl. Last spring/summer, I made an honest effort to use sunscreen for myself too, and I’m trying harder this year.
I’ve combination skin, which tends to be more on the oily side in warmer weather. Few years back, spf, well ! they weren’t quite as good as they’re now. I hated the feeling of wearing spf, it looked so off, it felt so off, and putting on makeup over it, only meant disaster, hence why I avoided it. But, last couple of years I have tried few new sunscreens which were totally different. The quality now, has improved drastically.
I came across Alpha-H daily essential Moisturiser SPF 50+ on Cultbeauty, it had mixed reviews, but you know when you’ve a feeling that something’s gonna work for you. I love reviews, they’re super helpful in most cases, but what we need to keep in mind is, our skin reacts differently to every product. What works for someone else might not work for you and vice versa. I had a feeling that it’s a great product and I should give it a try since I was looking for a new sunscreen.
They say it right, always trust your gut instinct. A bit dramatic (haha), I know but while it had mix reviews, and it wasn’t a low-priced product I still went for it. And, I’m so happy I did. It’s a perfect everyday moisturizer, with spf, and that also 50+. It’s very light-weight, little goes a long way. It doesn’t give you a white-spf-cast. Once it absorbs in the skin it feels like nothing. It’s moisturizing, and makes a perfect base for makeup. My biggest pet-peeve with spf is, when it makes your foundation look blotchy and patchy, nope ! didn’t experience anything like that. Have been using it everyday ever since I got it.
Few people mentioned that the pump stopped working after few uses and I think they repackaged it with a different type of dispenser. I’m not sure but when I received the product it didn’t have the same pump as showed in the pictures. Not that this dispenser doesn’t work well, it’s still hygienic and easy to use but I do prefer a pump over it. It’s confusing which I don’t appreciate, but luckily I love the actual product and it works for me.
You’re suppose to use it 20mins before sun-exposure(like most sunscreens) which is perfect because by the time I’m ready to head out the door, after getting myself and my little one ready, it’s doing it’s job. So far it wears perfectly under the makeup. I’ve mentioned all the pros and cons already so you can decide for yourself whether this product is for you or not.
I hope you find this post helpful.
