All about that serum life
I get complimented a lot on my skin, which is kind of surprising to me but pleasantly surprising, of course! Recently I shared a video on my Instagram and facebook page where I briefly showed some of the basic makeup steps I follow, and in the beginning of the video I had no makeup on whatsoever. Ever since that video I’m getting quite a few messages on and off asking me about some skincare tips. One of you asked that you do keep your skin clean and use a moisturizer religiously but your skin still doesn’t feel that great. Firstly everyone’s skin is different and it keeps changing through the years. I do have acne-prone skin, and I do get occasional breakouts, I don’t stress about that. No one wants acne on their face, but is it their choice to make? For the most part NO !
But I think it’s important to do the best that you can to avoid it, and even when you get pimples and acne, don’t go bananas over it, don’t touch it, don’t panic. It’s very much normal. When you mess with it, you only make it worse and then it leads to more problems. You will notice more break outs around that area, it’ll leave scars and it will just elongate the actual healing process. It’s very much normal to have acne and pimples. Heck Yes it’s annoying, annoying AF, but try to ignore it as much as you can.
A Skincare Step that makes the biggest difference
Serums are great. The best thing that you can do for your skin is, to add a serum in your skincare regimen. So many people get confused about serums, they don’t understand how to use them, when to use them, why to use them, and also which ones to use. Serums are the concentrated version of whatever your skin requires. For example if you see signs of aging or you wanna prevent them, you should opt for anti-aging serum. An everyday moisturizer is great for your skin on a day to day basis, but for long term results you need something that is more potent and powerful, a SERUM !
How to find a perfect serum for you
I get it! It’s confusing but don’t be shy to take assistance from the people on the counter. They’re there to help you. Don’t worry about them pushing a product on you, if you don’t think it’s for you, you don’t have to buy it, as simple as that. They’re doing their job. Search for the one serum that you think really fits your needs. Examine your skin and see what you want your serum to do for you ? then Set your budget ! Explore and find the serum that targets your skin concerns.
How to use a serum
Layering up skincare products is confusing, and personally speaking I find it extremely scary. Which is a whole new topic I’m not going in to right now. You apply serum on clean skin before moisturizer. Serums have lighter consistency than the moisturizers, thus they penetrate in the skin quicker and deeper. Apply it, give it few minutes to set and then put moisturizer on top. It’s that simple.
I tried to answer all the questions that I have gotten so far, and I also tried to make it as simple as possible. If you still have any questions feel free to ask.
