All about my hair | Hair Care Tips Some of my most asked questions are related to my hair and skin. In today’s blog post I’m gonna share ERRRRTHING about my hair. In all honesty I’m not the best when it comes to taking care of my hair, BUT I TRY. Some days I don’t even have time to brush my hair. Most days my hair is up in a bun, with the ugliest hair catchers you’ll ever see in your life(lol). I have thin, silky and straight hair, and while it sounds like an amazing thing. Let me tell you it’s REALLY hard to keep them in place. If I were to keep them down all the time that wouldn’t be a problem, but like I mentioned earlier, most days my hair is always up in a bun.
Hair care tips
- Don’t shampoo your hair everyday. Twice or Thrice a week and rest, God bless whoever invented “dry shampoo”.
- I rarely, RARELY ever use heat tools on my hair, anymore ! Only because I don’t have time. But that means NO HEAT DAMAGE!
- Let your hair Air-dry.
- Brush your hair when it’s semi dry ! (not too wet, not too dry)
- Avoid hot water as much as you can while shampooing, but let’s just be honest, sometimes that’s too hard to avoid but taking a polar bear head plunge afterwards help.
- I don’t use generic hair brushes.
- Don’t skip conditioner or hair mask.
- A good scalp massage really helps.
- Worry less !
- Trim your hair.
These’re all the do’s and don’ts that I keep in my mind when it comes to my hair. Plus I don’t try new hair styles. Honestly I’m not good at doing my own hair, and I only end up damaging them. I keep it REAL REAL, R E A L simple. Try to avoid really tight hair styles. If you’re not sleeping well, or you don’t eat healthy, and also you stress a lot, you are gonna lose hair. The most neglected part of growing your hair or keeping it healthy is “trimming your hair”. Even though you’re trying to grow your hair, it’s important to trim your hair just a LITTLE BIT ! I trim my hair myself, every 2 to 3 months. If your hair isn’t in good condition don’t color your hair. My hair is chemically treated, which is why I use a good hair mask every now and then.
My hair color
My real hair color is DARK Brown, almost black ! I have dyed my hair Chocolate brown with ash blonde highlights. Since I get asked about that A LOT, it’s better if I add it in the post as well.
I have had long hair for as long as I can remember. My Mom used to take care of my hair, a lot ! She loved my hair and took pride in it so I never really felt the urge to cut it. Even now when I visit her she gives me the most relaxing scalp massages EVER ! Oh how I miss her xP
Hair Care Routine
My hair care routine is pretty simple. I like to deep condition my hair with good old coconut oil. 2 hours before I take shower I apply coconut oil to my scalp and massage it, GENTLY ! I’m not very picky with the shampoos I use, anything works. I don’t ever skip using a hair conditioner and afterwards I apply a thin layer of hair serum or oil at the ends of my hair, and brush it through when it’s semi-dry.
All the details of the products I use are,
Shampoo and Conditioner
This shampoo and conditioner is pretty good and it’s not too expensive either.
Macadamia Natural Oil Deep repair masque has been my holy grail for years now. I absolutely love this hair mask. Yes it’s more on the expensive side but a little goes a long way.
Pantene Dry oil with Argan oil is absolutely great at preventing hair frizz and also gives a little bit of shine without weighing your hair down.
This hair serum has been my holy grail for years. I don’t know where you can find it. I bought it from a pharmacy in Dubai Mall, and since my brother lives in Dubai I don’t have any problem getting my hands on this product. It makes my hair smell AMAZING ! I absolutely love it. And it lasts FOR-Freaking- EVER ! It’s a keratin filler serum. If you can find it where you live, give it a go.
I had the travel tangle teezer for a couple of years, but now I have got this one, which is the same thing, only bigger. This brush detangles the hair very gently and prevents the hair frizz.
Extra Hair Products
Batiste Dry Shampoo & Pantene Foam *volume and body*
I rarely ever blow-dry my hair. But when I do I like to use this hair mousse to give my hair some volume and body. It doesn’t make your hair crisp which I hate. It gives a little bit of volume and hold while keeping the hair brushable and manageable.
Well my now you all know my love for Batiste dry shampoo.
These are all the hair care tips I have to share. If there’re just two things that you wanna take out of this post, I highly recommend “Tangle teezer and macadamia natural oil deep repair hair mask”. I hope you find this post helpful.
